Second training hike. Only carried a day pack this time (much better!). Tried to make my way through Wytham Woods (along a more northern route than last time) and reach the nearby village of Eynsham on the other side. Unfortunately, my GPS track stopped after about 5 miles (I'm still working out the kinks). I wondered around a bit but decided to go back to Oxford by following the Thames. It was pretty fun being without much direction or maps and just using the river to guide me back. Still determined to make it to Eynsham so stay tuned...
Random Endorsement: gaiagps.com is amazing for planning walking routes. It knew about "paths" that were essentially made of matted down grass that go through hedges and over fences (See photos).
